Although Ayrton Senna won his first championship with McLaren, he achieved several victories with Lotus between 1985 and 1987.
To honor him, the British brand has launched a special edition of the Emira with two paint schemes inspired by the cars the driver raced while with Lotus.
Despite the recent success of the Senna series on Netflix, the manufacturer revealed that only 12 units of each model will be available in Europe, priced at approximately $115,000 each.
The first model, in yellow, is inspired by the Type 99T, used by the driver during his victories at the Monaco and Detroit GPs in 1987. The other model, painted black with gold accents, takes inspiration from the Type 97T, used by Senna in his victories in Portugal and Belgium.
The special series will also be available in three additional color options that reflect parts of Lotus’s motorsport history. In addition to the supercar, lucky buyers will receive a certificate of authenticity and a numbered plaque engraved with the name “Emira Limited“.
